Travel Soccer
The travel program is more demanding on the player and the parents. This program is competitive and standings are kept.
The player has to be prepared for multiple practices during the week and more intense play during the weekend. There may not be a guarantee for equal playing time in this league.
The parents have to be prepared for the above and the actual travel. We have gone as far as 45 minutes away and as close as Uxbridge, but there is no telling until MAYS (Midland Area Youth Soccer) places all the teams.
Aged groups will be in accordance with MAYS (Midland Area Youth Soccer) age group guidelines.
Tryouts are held in June/July each year and are used to select the travel teams that will stay together for the following fall AND spring seasons. Information on tryouts are emailed to all BMYSO members and as well, posted on our web page. There are no fees for trying out, the fees are due when a player is placed on a team.
There is usually no tryout for the spring season separate from the fall season. There has been occasions where a coach needed additional players, for various reasons, and there has been an “out-of-cycle tryout” for the spring season. BMYSO does their best to notify everyone when this occurs.
Games are played according to the MAYS schedule on Saturdays.
No travel players will be allowed on the field until their fees are paid in full.
Travel soccer is a 2 (two) season commitment. Once placed on a team for the fall season, each player is fully expected to play the following spring season and as well.
